About Emma Macrae

CBT Inverness was established in 2010 by Emma Macrae.

Emma has lived and worked in Inverness since 1994. She has over thirty years experience of working in the NHS in adult mental health gained as a psychiatric nurse and CBT practitioner. She currently works for the NHS in addition to her work for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Inverness.

Emma had a significant role in developing a hospital based service for Borderline Personality Disorder sufferers and has presented this nationally and internationally.

She completed her training in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy in 2003 and has been accreditated with the BABCP since 2005.

Special Interests

Emma's particular areas of expertise are the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders and post traumatic stress disorder.

Emma has also trained as a Mindfulness therapist and can facilitate Mindfulness courses.

Emma has recently undergone EMDR training which is recognised as an effective treatment for single event Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
